Abstract
Experiments have been performed13; investigating the effectiveness of steady13; tangential blowing, with the blowing slot13; located downstream of separation (but inside13; the separation bubble) to control a trailing-edge13; separated flow at low speeds. Trailing-edge13; separation was induced on a two-dimensional13; airfoil-like body and the shear13; layer closure occurred in the near-wake.13; Measurements made consisted of model13; surface pressures, mean velocity, turbulent13; shear stress and kinetic energy profiles in the13; separated zone using a 2-component LDV13; system. It is explicitly demonstrated that the13; novel concept of tangential blowing inside the13; bubble can be an effective means of control13; for trailing-edge separated flows as well.13; Blowing mass and momentum requirements13; for the suppression of wall and wake flow13; reversals have been estimated.13;
