Abstract
This report presents wind speed data collected in the western ghats on the ridge line surrounding Talacauvery (origin of rivercauvery) located in Kodugu district.The data collection was initiated during last week of December 1986. Four data loggers were installed over a span of about 2-3 kilometers. Based on the data collected for one year, data logging was continued in two sites into 1988. One site (Muvalemotte side) has been chosen to set up five WECs each of 110 W. The other site was on the Bramhagiri peak, which has shown a good potential. In this report data for the period January- March 1988 has been reported.
