Abstract
A windmill named SAMIRA has been designed to enable cost-effective water-lifting from shallow wells in windy areas. It has a medium speed 3 bladed rotor of 7.5 m diameter provided with an innovative, self actuated slat cum spoiler arrangement for regulation in high wind speeds much needed ruggedness for field use
